Current TV is the new youth-targeting, viewer-programmed network.
It has made its first video-on-demand (VOD) deal, by agreeing to be carried as part of Time Warner Cable’s VOD offerings in Los Angeles.
Current TV will supply Time Warner with on-demand content that is intended to complement the programming on Time Warner’s linear TV channel, which is included in Time Warner’s digital basic package.
Current’s VOD content will include programming contributed by viewers - reality TV at the limit! This will focus on both national and local issues divided into three categories:
- Best of Current,
- Current LA
- SuperNews.
Also, viewers will get instructions explaining how Current works and how they can contribute video to the network.
